Appearance & Attitude:
Talanthius stands 5'11 and weighs 120lbs, a medium athletic build gives him an agile and cunning look. He keeps is chestnut hair cropped short, his steel grey eyes go well with the slightly golden hue of his skin.
Talanthius was born into nobility like many of this brethren on the isle of Evermeet and because of this he enjoys the finer things in life. He dresses well to reflect his status though years of pouring over tomes and countless hours in the labs have left his manners in poor shape.
Though he has not spent any real amount of time with humans, Tal seems to have acquired their impetuous attitude but when he focuses on an goal all other things in life seem to slip away. As a testament to this since joining the academy Tal has virtually cut off all life with his former friends and family members.
Though helpful as he may seem, Tal often finds it hard to mask his haughtiness, and often bites his lip when it comes to adding sarcastic remarks to those around him.
History:
Talanthius Silverstone was born in Evermeet. His Family was one of the first to heed the call of the retreat and with time they amounted a sizable family home with country status to follow.
Like all elves Tal grew up among the fields and forests of the Island, laughing and playing among the great cedars and evergreens. As time drifted by so did their childhood. At a young age, perhaps a bit younger then most, Tal learned he had a great talent for the magical arts. More importantly his father and the wizards of the high tower discovered this as well, therefore his childhood was cut short and he was ushered into the academy of magical arts at the earliest possible moment.
Talanthius quickly fit in, and in no time began to exceed the limits of his lesser classes. With great satisfaction he advanced above his year and into the classes of much older students. At first Tal was welcomed by his fellow students, but that was quickly replaced by jealousy and rivalry. Tal learned to keep to himself, and for much of his young manhood he spent time hidden away in his cramp quarters or shadowed by the great book shelves of the grand library.
Talanthius is still rather young in both elven and human terms, but his power is building at an alarming rate. He enjoys spending most of his time practicing the arts or pouring over some musty tomes, pursuing his love of history.
It was in his fifth decade at the wizards academy when he was approached by one of his teachers, whom he believed was a close friend and mentor. He was asked to partake in a mission that was both important to Evermeet and Faerun. He was asked to take a trip to the lower reaches of Faerun to join an elite academy in a Human country. There he was to continue his studies as a wizard and also collect information about a strange and hidden danger creeping into the lands.
Through visions acquired by elven arch mages, Talanthius was informed that what was happening in this human town could sway the balance in favor of Evil for all of Faerun. Talanthius was both happy and angry for being entrusted with this great task. On one hand, he was more then willing to do what he must for his people and the lands, but he also felt he was being torn away from his full pursuit towards his arcane path.
Reluctantly he packed his things and embarked on a trip that would wind its way down to the Thindol and Tashalar kingdoms. He traveled alone, but was told a few other students would be also there to insure the task would have sufficient coverage. This only enraged Tal more. One thing is for certain whatever is befalling Faerun would not hold Tal back from the goals of his craft.
Goals:
Talanthius does not try to hide his ambition and lust for the knowledge of high arcana but he realizes that in order to gain access to such things he must appease others in the mean time. Tal's goals are to his Craft, his People and to his own well being.
